Junior Athlete Development at FitSapiens
Movement Skills, Confidence & Fun — Tailored to Every Age & Stage
At FitSapiens, we believe the best athletes aren’t built overnight — they’re developed with care, curiosity, and a whole lot of play. Our Junior Development Program follows the Long-Term Athletic Development (LTAD) model, the gold standard for helping young athletes grow stronger, more capable, and more confident at every age and stage.
What to Expect — Age-by-Age Focus
Ages 6-9: Movement Through Play
In these early years, our focus is simple: make movement fun. Through games, obstacle courses, and playful challenges, we help kids explore their physical abilities while developing fundamental skills like balance, coordination, and reaction time. Every session feels like active play — all while laying the groundwork for future skills.
Focus: Exposure to all kinds of movement + building confidence.
Ages 10-12: Building the Body Toolbox
At this stage, kids are ready to start learning how to move well. We introduce essential tools like stretching, foam rolling, core activation, and body awareness. By keeping training varied and exploratory, we help them develop skills they can apply to any sport or activity — without the pressure to specialize too soon.
Focus: Skill development + body care basics, all with a playful twist.
Ages 13-15: Strength with Self-Awareness
As growth speeds up, so do physical changes — which is why this is the time to focus on smooth, coordinated movement under new physical demands. We introduce age-appropriate strength training, alongside recovery strategies and self-regulation techniques to help them manage both physical and mental stress. We also help them take ownership of their training, so they begin to understand what their body needs to thrive.
Focus: Strength + self-awareness + using movement as a tool for stress relief.
Ages 16+: Training for Performance & Life
Whether they’re training for a sport, a big goal, or just lifelong fitness, older juniors learn how to train with purpose — but without losing sight of balance. Workouts become more personalized, blending performance goals with the reality of school, life, and recovery needs. We help them see training not just as preparation for competition, but as a lifelong investment in their physical and mental well-being.
Focus: Performance + lifelong movement habits.
Above All: Fun Comes First
Across every age and stage, the golden rule at FitSapiens is this: if they’re not enjoying it, they won’t stick with it. Progress is important — but loving how you move is the real win. Sometimes that means slowing things down, switching gears, or tossing in a spontaneous game. That’s not a detour — it’s part of the plan.
Every session ends with the goal of sending your junior athlete home not just a little stronger and more capable, but also a little more calm and regulated — so there’s just a bit less chaos and a bit more balance at home.
